"bases" seem to be more like "campsites" for crafting/cooking/storage/sleeping, and walls only seem to act more like markers for territory and shabby barricades. there are no doors, so there's really no "inside" and "outside" either.
also, DS/DST despite using 2d sprites seem to be inside a 3d engine. so creating isometric structures with z-levels shouldn't be an impossibility. a good reference of HOW this could be implemented is the game called "project zomboid".. it's just a 2d isometric game but it has a more advanced building system for creating player bases.
anyways, i would like to know if sometime (even in the far-off future) would KLEI be interested in developing a new expansion for building more advanced player bases?
building a base does not make players invincible, but it's gonna be more fun defending a "real" base together with friends.
