So I came up with this concept a loooooong time ago, can't recall when, but it was around the time the game left Beta. I had this concept for a character who had more "Support" oriented specialties. It wasn't until the Winona Character Update, however, that I decided to revisit this concept to flesh it out more with lore and mechanics and such. Anywho, I hope you enjoy my little idea here!

Character Name: Woolma

Nickname: The Sheep Herder

Motto: "Golly, I really wish I had a brush..."

Perks:

  • Is a Sheep Herder in more ways than one.
  • Doesn't like rain.
  • Happy-go-lucky.

Health: 130

Hunger: 150

Sanity: 200

Sanity Modifier: Up to +10/minute nearby Passive Mobs and Allied Neutral Mobs, -10 upon killing any Passive or Neutral Mobs

Damage Modifier: 0.75x to Passive and Neutral Mobs

Special Items: Woolma's Bonnet, Woolma's Crook

Origin:

Once upon a time, there was a simple farmgirl named Velma, who loved and cared for all of her family's livestock. She took care of cows, pigs, chickens, but most of all, sheep. Young Velma even had a close companion, Woolimina, a little ewe she was raising herself. One fated day, Velma found herself lost after chasing a frightened Woolimina into the woods near her family farm. The young farmgirl found her wooly companion in the middle of the woods, surrounded by strange trees, running up to embrace her sheep only to fall through the ground, Woolimina in her arms. Upon waking, Velma found herself in an unfamiliar field, surrounded by many unfamiliar wooly creatures...but more so, she was also an unfamiliar wooly creature, a sheep-like entity. Now she wanders The Constant with her new name, Woolma, taming the many critters in the wild while searching for a way back home and a way to return to normal.

Special Power:

Woolma is a bipedal sheep, and as a literal sheep herder, she has various perks thanks to her altered biology and ranching know-how. She starts the game with two unique items craftable only by her. The first item is Woolma's Bonnet (2 Wooly Wool, 1 Beefalo Wool, and 1 Stinger), a unique hat that allows Woolma to approach Passive and Neutral mobs without causing them to flee from her. Her other unique item is Woolma's Crook (1 Wooly Wool, and 3 Sticks), which grants a tiny 10% speed boost and only dealing a measly 15 damage a swing (on Hostile Mobs). However, If Woolma has both of these items equipped, she can right click on a Beefalo or Volt Goat to cause it to follow her at the cost of some durability to her crook. Beefalo or Goats under this effect will follow Woolma for one in game day, even if she unequips her crook/bonnet or they are broken. Woolma can domesticate Beefalo faster than most, causing all domestication gains to be doubled. additionally, once a day, Woolma can feed Volt Goats with Cut Grass or Twigs to cause them to drop a single Electric Milk without killing the Goats.

While Woolma can wear hats and weild tools, she is incapable of wearing clothing items except for bags and amulets. The reason for this is due to her ability to grow wool, which she can shear with a Razor or a Shearing Station that only she can construct (2 Wooden Boards, 1 Razor, and 4 Wooly Wool) for Wooly Wool at the cost of some of her health. The health cost is dependent on who or what shears her, if she shears herself, it will cost 15 health, if another survivor shears her it will cost 10 health, and if she shears using a Shearing Station it will only cost 5 health. Starting out or upon shearing, she will have a Thin Wool Coat, which will provide 20 seconds of insulation, but it cannot be sheared. After 5 Days, she will have a Fluffy Wool Coat, providing 50 seconds of insulation, shearing which will yield 3 Wooly Wools. Upon 15 Days, Woolma will have an Overgrown Wool Coat, which will provide 150 seconds of insulation, but due to the weight of the coat, she will lose 10% movement speed, shearing this coat will yield 5 Wooly Wool.

Wooly Wool is required for the many unique crafts available only to Woolma under her unique crafting tab, "Rancherology" as well as a unique clothing item under the Dress tab. Her Bonnet and crook are under her Rancherology tab, as well as her Shearing Station. Additionally, She can craft Wool Blankets (3 Wooly Wool, and 1 Stinger), which can be given to Beefalo to grant a passive domestication gain or be kept in Woolma or another survivor's inventory for 50 seconds of insulation, the blanket will last 10 days in any Survivor's inventory (the Beefalo given the blanket will have the remaining duration of the blanket reset, but it cannot be taken back). She can also craft Beefalo Shoes (4 Gold Nuggets and 1 Rock), which can be given to a domesticated Beefalo to grant  15% speed boost while mounted, the shoes will last 15 days. Her 1 unique Dress tab craft is the Wooly Sweater (4 Wooly Wool, 1 Beefalo Wool, and 2 Silks) which, when worn by another Survivor, will grant 250 seconds of Insulation and will last 15 days.

Woolma's Wool might seem like it has many great perks, but her wool and her sheeply anatomy have their downsides. For one, her wool coat retains water almost too well, and it takes twice the duration for her to dry off compared to other Survivors. Her Sanity loss from Rain is also doubled. Additionally, she cannot eat meat, in fact, she will absolutely refuse to pick up meat items, even Pig Skins, preventing crafts with said item involved. On a positive note, Woolma can eat Cut Grass, providing 5 hunger at the cost of 1 sanity. Furthermore, upon getting in range of any hounds or Vargs, they will automatically aggro onto her, even if they were aggro'd onto another survivor. Hounds will also cause her to lose double the sanity lost from their negative sanity auras.

Speaking of Sanity Auras, Woolma's happy-go-lucky nature will affect said auras. Positive Auras will actually provide +10/minute more Sanity than usual on top of the +10/minute she would receive being near a passive or neutral mob (meaning Allied Pigs will give her a whopping 45 sanity per minute). Negative auras will have their effects lessened by the 10/minute as well ( With the exception of Hound Auras, which will be unaffected and even be doubled in detrimentality).

And that's it folks, let me know what you think of my little character concept!
